What are you running from?

Releasing Doubt, and working toward your dreams.

“If you choose to continue running on a treadmill, and choose to run away from the things that make you feel whole. You will only wear yourself down as time progresses. Feeding yourself to the wolves in the end.”

Sounds harsh doesn’t it? Yet if you think about it, it’s kind of true. Simply put, when you steer yourself clear from everything it is in life that you desire to do, due to fear, uncertainty, or doubt. You deprive yourself of truly experiencing life as you may wish to.

You continue to place yourself in a situation that brings you “comfort” but not total happiness, and it ultimately wears you out long term.

Are you happy doing what you do in life?

If not, why are you doing it?

Think about it. How often do you truly find yourself looking away from the dreams you visualized clearly in your mind due to the fear, doubt or uncertainty of what if? How often do you find yourself living a mediocre lifestyle simply because that is what society is telling you to do?

“Follow the crowd.” They say. “Do what you must to survive,” right?

But what about how you feel. Does that not matter?

When you choose to stand apart from the crowd and follow your own path, you give yourself a chance to live as you desire. Compared to doing what is expected of you. When you live on your own terms, you give yourself a chance to live in alignment with exactly who you are within.

You give yourself a chance to succeed.

“They may say you are crazy at first, but once you succeed they will be idolizing you instead.”

A wise man once said, the idea of hurdling yourself into space on a machine made of metal was seen as obscene and insane. But when that first rocket ship launched; many wished they thought of the idea instead. Many saw this person as admirable and inspiring. Compared to crazy, or insane.

And now look how far we’ve come.

Everything, until it is brought to fruition will most likely be seen as an “unachievable or silly act” but it’s not.

In the world we live in today, it can be seen that those who desire to chase their dreams, are usually at first seen as “risky” but this is just an obscured image society has presented. If you choose to continue to believe that perception you deprive yourself of living the fulfilling life you’ve always dreamed.

Now it’s obvious that in life things happen. And sometimes your dreams shift and alter to adapt to match that ever-changing lifestyle that you are currently living and that is OK.

Yet how often do you find yourself turning a blind eye to the new dreams that you have molded or shaped for yourself?

How often do you find yourself turning away from that perfectly carved path you created in your mind, due to the fear of what if. The uncertainty of what may be?

What if I fail? What will others think about me? It’s too hard, I can’t. If I don’t make it, I have to start over again, I can’t do that.

I feel this is something we all do more than we would like to admit. We tend to settle for things in life simply because we feel -in the moment- that this is the only option we have. The doubts flow, making you second guess everything you ever hoped.

The negativities can and do go on.

Yet if you stop to think about it, and really analyze the situation instead you then start to see that the possibilities are truly endless. You finally give yourself a chance at living the life you’ve always wanted.

Now it may be true that when you confront the worries that arise, the negativities that persist (in regards to the dreams you do have or how you will get there) it may place you in a position of discomfort. I mean think about it, who likes to spend their time thinking about the reasoning behind why they are feeling these doubts, worries or fears?

I know I don’t. But I do because I have to.

Because if you do not allow yourself to understand, you do not give yourself an opportunity to make these dreams come true.

Once you analyze the fears you do have, the doubts, or the worries. Then allow yourself to work through them, the relief that is brought forth is much more positive then the worries or fears that once were.

This is not something that happens overnight. Healing, and understanding takes time. Especially when it involves yourself. But when you do, you give yourself an opportunity to grow.

One must also ask themselves are the doubts, worries, or fears that are creeping up really even their own? Or are they the trained beliefs that were pushed upon you from others?

“Sometimes the fears we have, aren’t exactly our own but this perception that was handed down to us through generations of our life time.”

Most of the time these things come forth from those who either doubt themselves, have little confidence in their own abilities, lack trust, or simply were forced to believe and see this way through out their own life. Which then leads to them pushing that fear or doubt upon on you.

“You have to carry on the family business because that is what our family is supposed to do. You can’t become an astronaut because our business matters more.” For example.

Sometimes those little voices telling you you can’t, aren’t even your own.

At times, the voice that holds the most value (your own) is the one that is silenced- due to all the outside noises that exist or existed prior.

Now, this isn’t to say that every little sense of doubt that creeps up just isn’t yours, because it very well may be. But until you analyze why, your ability to comprehend and overcome them will be a challenge in and of itself.

Maybe you grew up not gaining the right amount of confidence you truly needed to take flight. Or maybe it was a lack of support from those you cared about. The cause could even be past traumas that occurred that steered you away from the dreams you did hold.

There can be so many answers to that one question but the only person who will be able to decipher that is you.

In order to get exactly where you need or want to be at in life, you have to apply yourself. Then motivate yourself to actually try. You have to then encourage yourself, and be 100% willing to make the changes that are necessary, in order for you take flight and really make these dreams come true.

So how precisely can you re-ignite that fire within you and really kick it into high gear. How can you shift that mentality to believing that you can be anything you wish to be.

For starters, you must turn within:

“In order to really gain a better sense of who you are or what exactly it is you wish to accomplish in life, you must first look within.”

You must first have an awareness of self before you can really grasp onto the dreams you do have. If you are not in alignment with who you are, then your ability to truly aim toward your goals will falter.

Allowing yourself to reflect upon who you are, who you were, and who you wish to be. (The good, the bad, and the ugly-past, present, future.) will allow you to have a better sense of connection, and a better knowledge of the things you need to have to succeed. It will re-center who you are, and give you a better awareness to exactly what is holding you back and why.

This may include those past trauma’s, those subconscious beliefs, those outside belief, and the doubts or worries you possess.

But, when you reflect inward you gain a better understanding to the why they exist and then give yourself a chance to overcome them. To take them on with a grain of salt. With confidence and support.

When you cage yourself, and the key is around your neck, it is your decision to step out or stay in.

So choose to turn within.

Secondly, take initiative:

After you allow yourself time to sit and reflect, you must then take the first steps to really making those goals & dreams a reality.

Write it out & create a game plan. Figure out where you want to start, the problem areas that exist, and how you are going to make this work. What steps are needed to get to where you wish to be?

Maybe it’s something as simple as taking ten minutes out of your day to just commit to doing whatever it is you hope to do.

(If its art, committing ten minutes to doing just that. If it’s writing, committing ten minutes to doing just that. If it’s starting a new business, committing ten minutes to really laying everything out and figuring out how to make these ideas into a reality.)

And lastly, buckle down:

The road traveled isn’t going to be perfect and it won’t always be fun. Making room for new dreams or new goals will not be an easy task to accomplish. (If it was, we would all already be living the life we wish to live. Our dreams would already be ours.)

When you have that understanding, knowing that the roads will not always be smooth, it makes the journey a little less of an uncertainty, and a lot more like an adventure. When you still choose to push through even during times of hardships, the goals don’t seem as unachievable as they may have before.

“The tides may get high but that just means your doing more than you ever thought you could before. Keep going.”

Understanding that things may not be a flawless journey, is truly that first step to really being able to shift and alter the once mentality that was. We-in moments of chaos- typically lean toward running away. When in reality, when things get harder, that just means you should keep on.

Because the success at the end is always much more gratifying then the hell that you had to go through to get there.

When you allow yourself to try & keep pushing on even in times of chaos you will succeed. When you make yourself aware and known to the inner voices, the uncertainties, or the hurdles that stand in your way, you open that gate to a new sense of ability and a whole new reality.

Don’t give into the fears that exist. Work through them. Reinvent yourself , and stop running away from the things your intuition is trying to push you toward.

Growth takes time. Healing takes time. But when you re-ignite that fire within, those possibilities will be endless.

Believe in yourself & trust in your abilities. This is your life to live, these are your dreams to dream. So, make them come true and Choose to live the best life that you can along the way.

As you live, you learn. As you grow, you can either take what was learned as an opportunity for positive change, or allow it to diminish. That choice is always yours. The possibilities are endless. Choose to be kind, choose to grow.
