Expanding Your Mind

“When you expand your horizon’s, you no longer see in black and white, you see a Collidescope of colors.”
An expansion of self is something you seek, something you push, and something you Do. As a child, we are brand new to the world. We are new to everything that surrounds us and all that life currently is. Then, as we grow-we evolve, we adapt, we change.
We expand upon what we initially knew, and add more to it.
Everyday we are teachers but, also students. As an adult you have a lot to share based upon previous experiences or previous life encounters. Yet you still have so much to learn.
There comes a point in our adulthood when we merely stop choosing to learn, to grow, or to expand. Simply because we believe we have reached our “limit”. Which tricks us to thinking that once we reach said point in our lives, our ability to continue that expansion is either pointless, or not something that would be worthwhile.
We become conditioned to leading our lives in a specific mannerism due to that pre-conditioned belief that we have developed and allow ourselves to remain unaware. Completely oblivious up until we reach the end. Some choose to move through their lives with a belief that they are unable to expand their minds and their awareness due to “current circumstances”.
Yet, that full capability still exists.
In an ever-expanding universe, it should be assumed that we as humans should wake every day with an intention of evolution.. A desire to expand upon all that we currently have, know and are. Are you?
It’s true that you may see the world around you evolve and change, as many within it do to. But, have you ever wondered if you are also allowing yourself to do this? In comparison to simply observing, and being aware, why not participate?
Why is it that when one may reach a specific point in adulthood that this belief that one can continue to expand upon who they are is halted? Are you choosing to remain in place as many do, or are you choosing to grow? Expand? Branch out? Learn something new?
“Expansion of oneself is something that you should desire to do.”
Maybe you are someone who loves to grow. Someone who continues to learn, adapt, evolve and change. You are already ahead of the game. You have the right intentions, the right mentality. And that is a win to me. Yet, if you are on that flip side, where you see this world as it is: and choose to continue leading life in said manner without any sense of desire to expand upon who you are, then you have work to do.
Expanding your mind (and yourself). Doesn’t have to be a hurdle. It can be a journey.
“Expanding your mind, means expanding every piece of who you are as a whole. Mind, body, and spirit.”
Every day is a chance to start again. It’s an opportunity to grow and to learn more than you knew the day prior. It’s a chance to expand upon who YOU are in this very moment. Sure, you may be rather successful or happy and content with the life you do have, and that is a great place to be at. But there is always so much more to learn, to expand upon, and to do. We all internally crave more, we just don’t always allow ourselves to see it.
You see, as we go about our days, at times we can become so caught up within the reality that is that we blind ourselves to seeing what could be, what really exists outside of you. We stay wrapped within our own perception of who we are right now (the beliefs we hold, the life we lead), that we shut down any new ideas, insights, or opportunities that may present itself to us.
We remove the opportunity of expansion due to these blocks. You may be someone who tells yourself;
“Eh I already know that.” Or, “Eh, I love where I am at right now why do more? Why learn more? Why see the world in a new way? What is the point.”
“In a world that is consistently evolving, why are you choosing to remain in place? As we advance and expand upon our lives- as the world around us shifts and changes, why do you choose to turn a blind eye?”
We as human beings have so many capabilities around us and within us. In this greatly ever expanding universe you can never really have “too many” insights. You can never really possess “too much” knowledge.
You may have been programmed or conditioned within society -or those around you- to believing that this is how you should lead your life and this is just the way it should be.
When in reality you should be grasping any opportunity to jump, and choosing to delve into something new.
When you start to ask yourself,
“Is this really who I want to be? Do I really wish to remain with this tunneled vision of the world and those around me, doing things out of habit? Or, “Who am I really?” Then you start to understand and see things through a new lens.
You allow yourself to bring up new concepts.
You may start to question why you really hold that viewpoint and seek out more. This is good. We must consistently be wondering how you too can re-open your mind to allowing yourself to see things in a new light. You can learn to take in different experiences in a beautiful and wonderous way, or you can create them in new ways that benefit you both mentally and physically.
Think about it, if you consistently keep living your life on this habitual road where everything just comes out of habit. Holding the same thoughts and beliefs you’ve held day in and day out, without any desire to grow or expand. Are you really allowing yourself to fully nourish who you are?
When you continue to lead life in said manner, you may become bored, unsettled, and something inside you tugs. Urging you to see more, to hear more, to become more.
Of course, habits are good to have. But what if one day, in comparison to just running through the routines, having the same perceptions, dismissing anything new or interesting that is thrown your way:
You take a detour.
Maybe instead of wasting hours in front of a TV you pick up a new book that you always had interest in.
What if in comparison to sitting around your house, you head to a local coffee shop where you can actually socialize and connect with other people. New People who share different experiences, different cultures and different backgrounds then you.
Maybe you join a new club. Picking up something entirely different than what you’ve grown accustom to.
Maybe you simply choose to start a new hobby such as taking a walk every day. Doing so allows you to slow down, and really embrace and see the world in a new way.
Expanding upon who you are, not only brings forth positivity to your life, but it also feeds your mind, body, and soul in a wonderful way. It gives you a different approach upon life a new view point, new experiences that invigorate you. It allows you to see things from a new angle and gives you a chance to really live life with wonder, curiosity, and bliss. It brings forth an expansion of the mind, an extension of the soul, and a nourishment to the body.
That child like mind where everything was new, and unique. Where growth was consistently happening. Does not need to completely obliterate once you enter adult hood. It should fuel who you are even more.
“Heal your inner-child and embrace it once again.”
We as human beings who evolved from micro-organisms, and who live in a planet that was combusted through electrons, neutrons, atoms and particles are not meant to stay in place, with the same knowledge and experiences we held prior. We were meant to consistently be evolving, expanding, and growing upon who we are.
Every one of us has this burning flame deep inside ready and waiting to be pulled back up. You must allow yourself to do so.
This wide-eyed, starry-eyed gaze we had as children where everything was new and exciting and beautiful. Still exists. Allow that flame to be re-ignited. Let yourself open your mind to seeing life through this amazing, magical lens that at every turn, every angle something new is waiting for you to embrace.
“Expand your mind. Expand your horizons. & Open your eyes to seeing life in a new way.”
Expanding your mind, doesn’t simply mean to expand your knowledge upon a specific topic. It means:
Stepping away from that once closed-minded view of things and allowing yourself to actually see and experience life in a new and exciting way.
It’s getting out and taking new opportunities.
It’s finding a new hobby and committing to doing it
It’s reading new books, or picking a new topic to study. One that invigorate you inside and out.
It’s opening your eyes to seeing things that are around you right now.
It’s slowing down and fueling your mind, body, and soul through methods such as meditation & healthy living.
It’s a matter of re-learning and understanding that even though at times it feels like it, you don’t know everything. You are still a student in an ever-changing world.
It’s slowing down and actually listening to those around you, hearing what they have to share, the stories, the background, the differences.
It’s removing this “block” you have placed upon yourself into adulthood- that is telling you to continue to lead life as it is, without expansion or growth in anyway. And instead choosing to step outside of your comfort zone, re-open your mind to all that is or can be, and allowing the new to come in.
Giving yourself that opportunity to really expand upon who you are inside and out, is a way to really embrace all that is and understand yourself in a new and positive way.
Don’t lead life with this impression that you have to be this one person. That you have to do things as you always have.
You have a choice.
You have the full capability to go beyond that. To learn, to grow and to expand. You are more than you think, you are more than what you once believed you are, and your capabilities are endless.
Step outside, open your mind, and give yourself an opportunity to experience things in a much more unique and gratifying way.
Expand your mind. Expand who you are.
As you live, you learn. As you grow, you can either take what was learned as an opportunity for positive change, or allow it to diminish. That choice is always yours. The possibilities are endless. Choose to be kind, choose to grow.
“Follow your dreams, listen to your heart. And always believe in your self. “
