This year, as many have experienced; has been a whirlwind of emotions and different circumstances. One’s that have seemingly impacted our lives as we know it. These events have thrown everyone’s life for a loop and not exactly in the best way. With everything that has happened (and still is), it has caused an array of us to lose our own sense of self, our own sense of purpose. Which has led to a variety of us becoming uncertain about our future, & the lives we lead today.

“When outside forces find their way into your life, the first thing you will want to do is give in. To Give up.

Don’t.”

When things around you seem to be in shambles, the emotions you may encounter are probably much farther from how you would typically feel. Yet, when these situations do occur the only thing you are able to do, is find a sense of peace within, hope for the best, and do whatever it is you personally can to help alleviate the tension, or help others alleviate theirs.

When you fall off of that typical everyday wagon, and are thrown into an entirely new livelihood. Needless to say, It’s impacting.

Yet, in these moments, when there is not much else you can do, the first and only thing you should do is take a step back, find your grounding, and allow yourself to focus on precisely what is going right in the world, or in your own life.

If you’re a big Disney fan (or have kiddos who are) by now you have probably seen Frozen 2.

If so, you are probably aware of the songs within it. There is one specific song that correlates precisely with the message I am trying to relay, it’s called “The Next Right thing.”

"When you really don't know what to do — what do you do? How do you do it? You just put one foot in front of the other and do the next right thing. -Kristen Bell

This perception, not only rings true to millions of littles in the world, but also to us as adults, teens, and others alike as well.

So, when things as such occur one’s that are ultimately beyond your control. In the moment, all you truly can do is take a breath, have faith, and move forth with hope and positivity.

In these moments when you try to shift and focus your attention on the things that are going good in your life, you feel a little less scrambled and a tiny bit more in control.

When you place the things in your life that do hold purpose on a pedestal. You create opportunity, and happiness where you once felt there was not.

(Break away from the negativity of, the news, the negativity in social media, or what you hear on the streets and align yourself with the positives that exist right now.)

At times it may seem like all is bleak and dark, but when you take a step back, you will see that there is something positive present in your life. You just have to find it.

When you surround yourself with people you care about, and willingly choose to wake up “on the right side of the bed”. With optimism and hope for the day ahead, your worlds shift.

Embrace your emotions as they come, but don’t let them devour you.

Every day, you have a choice. So, choose to wake each day and see the light. Control what you can. Take each moment with stride, and move forward with hope and compassion because I promise a silver lining exists, just beyond that horizon.

As you live, you learn. As you grow, you can either take what was learned as an opportunity for positive change, or allow it to diminish. That choice is always yours. The possibilities are endless. Choose to be kind, choose to grow.
