Replanting Roots, Taking Back Control

“Sometimes it takes losing yourself to Find yourself again.”
Time and Time again I have found myself falling back into an old habit, an old pattern of negativity that I have worked so hard to overcome. I would allow myself to fall back into this mentality simply due to a minor change of events that initially threw me off the original path I was pursuing.
So many times I have found myself “giving up” on my journey because I would hit a rough patch in life. I would allow it to hold me back, drown my ambition, & positivity and keep me from being that best version of myself. I would allow it to hold me back from making any progress.
“My dreams became something that seemed impossible to achieve. My mindset became clouded, and when I would look in the mirror, it wasn’t who I wanted to be.”
Who I was became lost. Lost into the worry of what has not yet come, lost into the fear that I would fail. The vision I once had became blurred. My dreams became simply that, dreams.
I would wake up every day with a weight on my shoulders, one that I wouldn’t allow myself to pull off. I would go through my day on autopilot allowing only negative thoughts to burden me. And it remained that way, because I Allowed it to.

As time passed; waking up with that same feeling, plastering on a fake smile, trying to find the energy to shift my mindset to something more positive. It became a burden in and of itself. Every day that I would wake recounting, worrying, fearing what I lacked, or what I needed to be happy, tore me down.
Every day I would spend focusing on the same thing I did the day before, fearing the same fears about what was yet to come, and letting it break me down piece by piece, bit by bit until my energy was gone.
How was this benefiting me? I would think. How is this helping me? It wasn’t. Did I like feeling this way? No. But after growing so accustom to this thought process, this life style, It caused me to forget who I was.
It was then that I decided: Enough is enough. How much pain, hardships, and hurt are you going to allow yourself to go through before you say enough?
Allowing yourself to walk down this road and keep you from truly living your best life, or being the best version of yourself, is only hurting you more. This path will not benefit you, these weeds will not help you thrive, they will burden and bury you. So don’t let it. Take a stand, and say enough. Take action to replanting your roots, re-creating your life and Pushing On.
Finding yourself again, isn’t an easy task but it IS possible. It is doable. You can take back control, you can replant your own roots and start again. You can change lanes, and recreate the life you desire, if only you allow.
When will YOU decide enough is enough? You are the driver of your ship, so take back control, and drive.

Here are some ways to help get you started on this journey. To help you replant your roots and take back that control once again.
Remember, everyone’s journey will be different, and your methods of approach may be different then mine. Figure out what works for you and work at it daily.
First:
Understand who you want to be- You can’t start a journey without having an idea of where you wish to go. To walk a path that will bring forth healing and happiness you need to first have an idea of who it is you wish to be. Visualize your ideal life, and your ideal version of self, and use that as your starting point.
Start Small- Do things that make you feel happy. (Simple, but effective.) If you commit every day to doing something you love, something that makes you happy and helps bring you that much closer to your destination, progress will show, worlds will shift.
Create a game plan and Stick To It.- How are you going to work on you? What methods are you going to try? What can you personally do to make you feel better starting Today? How are you going to change? Figure out a plan and commit.
Clear your Plate- Overcoming past burdens, fears, or things that have impacted your life negatively can be a challenge to do. But in order to move forward in life, you have to work through those past worries, fears or doubts, and move forward with a clear head, and a clean slate.
Reflect- How have these past situations helped you become who you are today? What strengths have they brought you, what have they taught you? Reflect on these and use them to your benefit. Use them to help you grow.
Focus on what IS, not what IS Not- I find myself doing this way more than I should. When you lose a job or are facing hard circumstances in life, it can be easy to overlook all the Good things that you DO have. It’s easy to focus on the Lack of, compared to the opposite. Do you have a home? A happy healthy family? Did you get to spend time with an old friend? Shifting your thought process to seeing all the beauty, and abundance of things that ARE present in your life, will shift your reality and your mindset in more ways than you realize.
Find an Outlet- Having some way to rid of negative thoughts or emotions, is one of the most beneficial things you can achieve. Maybe you enjoy running or writing. Maybe you’re more creative and enjoy music, dancing, or even sports. Whatever it is, finding something positive that works for you, can help shift your mentality, and life in beautiful ways.
Believe in Yourself, and the Power of who you are- Anything you wish to achieve in life will always circle back to you. If you can’t believe in yourself or the power you hold, you will never progress, and you will never succeed. Bet on yourself. Be who YOU want to be. Don’t follow the crowd, be okay with taking your OWN path and allow that to drive you to success.
Self-growth is not an easy task. It’s the determination to find it, to practice and commit to it, that matters the most. It’s your will to become more, to rise above the crowd, and bring forth that positive change.
You can replant your roots, you can change anything that you desire in your life right now. The effort put in will always bring forth the best results.
Having perseverance, motivation and that desire to be and to do more, will drive you to leading the best life you could ever lead.
“There will always be a reason to wait for smoother roads, or for that calm to come, but it’s those who brave the storm and keep going when the going gets tough, that will find true happiness, and will truly succeed.”
As you live, you learn. As you grow, you can either take what was learned as an opportunity for positive change, or allow it to diminish. That choice is always yours. The possibilities are endless. Choose to be kind, choose to grow.
“Follow your dreams, listen to your heart. And always believe in your self. “
