A Piece of You

Do you ever just look at the world and wonder, who am I…? What’s out there? or, Why am I here?

How often have you seen a documentary, scrolled through someone’s Instagram, or noticed the incredible diversity and uniqueness around us and thought:

“Is this really the place I live?”
“Is this really who I am?”
“Wow… look how far we’ve truly come.”

How often do you actually step back from your busy life to notice the beauty that surrounds you? Rarely, I’m sure.

In nature, in your children, in the people around you—even within yourself—beauty exists. Life thrives.

Yet how often do we truly pause to admire it, to let it sink in?

When you take that step back, your perspective shifts.

You might notice a flower beginning to bloom, a mother laughing with her child, a dreamer traveling the world, a child imagining a spaceship, a smile, a laugh, a bird, a plane… a person chasing their dreams.

You see life.

Have you ever really gazed upon the world and thought, that’s me. Everything that’s out there, everything I see,

“This. This is who I am.”

If you don’t, you should.

Everything that is, Everything you see, it’s all A Piece of who YOU are. It’s all a part of You. All the beauty, the wonder, the magic. Everything. It’s You.

You see, many of us go through life without really allowing ourselves that ability to just live and be present. To be present within the moment that is being given. We trudge through our days so quickly that by the time the day is over we haven’t truly allowed ourselves that ability of experiencing the life that is.

We deprive ourselves of that ability to Admire, the beauty that persists beyond.

When you choose to live in the present, you allow yourself to fully embrace all that currently is. You give yourself the chance to bask in the beauty around you, to open doors you never knew existed, and to truly see things you’ve never really noticed before. You allow yourself to truly live.

As a solo parent, I know this all too well. I would get so swept up in the endless to-do lists and the things I hadn’t yet done that I ran myself into overdrive.

I took on the role of protector, caregiver, and provider so fully that I lost the ability to appreciate what truly was. I trudged through days as if they meant nothing, overlooking everything beyond the chaos around me.

I confined myself to that narrow perception of being—absorbed entirely in motherhood and in the endless tasks, forgetting to see life beyond the obligations.

I closed myself off entirely to the beauty that truly surrounded me—beyond the lists, beyond the chaos, beyond even what I thought I was.

Don’t allow yourself to do this, and if you do? Re-focus, realign and give yourself a chance to appreciate.

In this world—whether as a mother, a student, a teacher, or a CEO—it’s easy to become so consumed by it all that we forget what exists beyond.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. You have the power to shift, to alter, to transform the way you see the world, the way you see yourself, and the way you experience and appreciate the life you do have.

“Your life is your virtue—a direct and profound connection to the universe that persists.”

Each day you wake offers a new beginning, a chance to be reborn. Every moment is a gift, an opportunity to slow down and embrace the richness that surrounds you.

It’s easy to fall into the same routine, to rush through days and overlook the beauty that exists in the world and within yourself. Yet it is not impossible to break that cycle.

The real challenge lies in pausing, in allowing yourself to admire, appreciate, and bask in all that your day, the world, and your own being have to offer. Life is measured by the experiences you allow yourself to have, by the depth with which you absorb and cherish them.

It is about stepping beyond comfort zones, beyond societal expectations, beyond the identity you thought defined you—and entering a new perspective, a new era of being.

This world is vast, wondrous, and beautiful. And every part of who you are mirrors that beauty—an echo of the universe itself. A fragment of you resides in every corner of existence.

So why wait?

Appreciating the little things in life shouldn’t feel like a task you “don’t have time for.” It’s not something to put off until tomorrow—it’s a daily practice, one you can start right now.

Stop focusing on what’s left undone, and turn your attention to what is already here. Open your eyes to the beauty that exists in this moment.

“The time is here. The time is now. Your lists will always be there, but your life will not. Why not allow yourself to truly live it, to experience it, and to appreciate it for all that it is?”

This life is yours to experience—right now. The universe you walk through daily is more than a physical space; it’s a part of who you are, a reflection of your mind, body, and soul.

So why ignore it? This life, this universe, is yours—pure and alive in the palm of your hands. Will you capture it, or let it slip by?

Make it a habit to truly see, to truly feel, to embrace the world around you. Let it become a stronger piece of who you are.

As you live, you learn. As you grow, you can either take what was learned as an opportunity for positive change, or allow it to diminish. That choice is always yours. The possibilities are endless. Choose to be kind, choose to grow.
